Welcome to the Brynmawr Lake Home Owner's Website!
We are a non-profit Texas corporation, serving the resident members of our sub-division. Our sub-division is located in the heart of Fort Bend County, Texas, about 3 miles north of Richmond, Texas. Our area is rich in history, as it dates back to the first colonies of Texans set up by Stephen F. Austin, back in the 1830's. Brynmawr Lake Subdivision was first developed January 9, 1985 by Quasar Development Corporation.
Our subdivision is comprised of 43 homes on 48 lots, each ranging in size between 1 and 1/2 acres. The subdivision is built around two separate lakes.
McCrary lake is an oxbow lake (originally part of the Brazos River, broken off at some point in history as the river constantly changes its course, generally as the results of flooding). McCrary Lake is approximately 14 acres in size and varies in depth, averaging about 5 feet, with places as deep as 6 or more feet. The lake is partially spring fed but catches most of its water from run-off.
A smaller man-made lake, not actually named, but commonly referred to as Pembrooke Lake is much smaller... approximately 1.4 acres. This lake averages about 5-6 feet deep, with places as deep as 7-8 feet, when full. This lake is supplied strictly by runoff from the surrounding area, and overflows into McCrary Lake.
Both lakes have fish, including perch, black bass, catfish, and stocked sterile grass carp (which naturally help keep pond grass growth under control.) Although public fishing is strictly prohibited in both lakes, all resident members of the association (and their chaperoned guests) are free to fish as often as they like in either lake. All members are also invited to enjoy the walking trail around both lakes and all common areas around the entrance to the community.
It is the desire of the Board of Directors of the Home Owner's Association, that this website will serve the community's resident members through an efficient means of 2-way communications, on a timely basis.
All members of the Association are highly encouraged to register on the website, and to keep their contact information (email addresses and phone numbers) current at all times, in order to receive timely information concerning our community and for official notices of Board meetings and Membership meetings as required by Texas law. The website offers a wealth of information, and the Board is always open to any ideas from the membership on ways to improve 2-way communications.
In lieu of a published "directory" (as in the past), all registered members will have real time access to contact information and names of all residents that will be up to date as of that minute. Anytime a resident member has any changes to make in phone numbers or email address, simply access the site and click on "Update Your Profile" at the bottom left of the "Home Page". Access to that information can only be obtained by entering your log-in password. No one outside the membership has access to your information, and there are very few areas of the website available to the "public" or anyone not registered with a password they create themselves in their personal "profile".
We encourage ALL members to become involved in our community! We encourage you to volunteer to work on one of our 5 committees. We also hope all members will contribute to our website. This website belongs to the entire membership!
Welcome to Brynmawr Lake... there's no place like HOME!
